The Author

Rev. Geraldine J. Joens, a native of Seaford, Delaware, is a graduate of Delaware State University, Central Michigan University, and Capella University, from where she earned her PhD in education. She received a master of divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Dr. Jones has been affiliated with more than twenty-five professional, civic, church, and community organizations, which include Who’s Who Among Black Americans and Who’s Who in the World of Women. She is a Golden Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
A retired educator, Dr. Jones has spent years writing as a hobby. She has written skits, poems, and other dramatic themes for family, church, friends, organizations, and schools. A soloist, motivational speaker, workshop leader/organizer/planner, liturgist, poet, and writer, she has been published in a poetry anthology and several other journals. Her books include Dear Brittany, From My Heart to Yours, From Our Hearts to Yours, I’m Doing Alright for an Old Lady, and Beside the Golden Door.
